Memories of My Parents – Wish You Were Here by Lee Fields Music Video #Suits

August 23, 2012 by NYCSingleMom Filed Under: Entertainment

Suits is one of my favorite shows on television. For those the uninitiated, it’s about an underachiever Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) who has eidetic memory (basically he remembers everything he reads and can recite it word for word),  who makes a living taking the LSAT for others. One day he happens upon the interviewing session for  Pearson Hardman law firm  and convinces Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht)  one of New York City’s top corporate lawyers to hire him even though he doesn’t have a law degree.  Forget the original premise of the show because the writing is whip smart, funny and some law cases are thrown in so Harvey can win and look good in his $5,000 dollar suits and boy does Gabriel Macht know how to wear a suit.

#Suits, Gabriel Macht, Jacinda Barrett, Royal Pains, Patrick J. Adams, Necessary Roughness, Gina Torres,

But that’s not all, for my money, Harvey (Gabriel Macht) relationship’s with his secretary Donna (Sarah Rafferty and Pearson Hardman Co-Founder Jessica (the fantastic Gina Torres and one of the few black women on television) are what make the show for me, less so than his relationship with Mike.

Why I continue to love the show is how it continually surprises me and in a recent episode Harvey goes to visit his father’s grave and the song that is played is just plain genius. I can’t stop playing the scene or the song because as someone who has lost both parents (in the month of August five years apart), the words in the song  are particularly meaningful and poignant.

Whether you have lost someone special, take a listen because you will fall in love with the song. And if you haven’t seen Suits, definitely get on board The #Suits Train.

Wish You Were Here  – Lee Fields & The Expressions

Seem like only yesterday, you were here smiling
Now you gone away, but I know you’re in a better place.

Here is the Suits scene featuring Lee Fields’ Wish You Were Here:

It is a great song! I get attached to sentimental songs a lot… What channel does this show play on? Sounds pretty interesting…
