Turning Double Digits – Happy 10th Birthday

March 13, 2013 by NYCSingleMom Filed Under: Dear Daughter, Single Mom Daily Life

My daughter turns 10 today. It is such a cliché but wow, how time flies. It seemed like it was only yesterday that I picked her up from the adoption agency and all  the many firsts of the last 10 years.

It’s funny when you are new mom, you always wonder about your child’s personality and how it will evolve over time. I  will always remember a pre-school mom asking me (this was when she was about 1), if she always woke up with a smile on her face,  “Yes, she always wakes up enthusiastically with a smile on her face.”

Even now as she is now officially a tween, she still wakes up enthusiastically and with a smile although during the school week, she might be a tad groggy.

It sounds nutty and maybe it’s because life was different when we were kids but I want my daughter to have a memorable turning Double Digits Day. Whom am I kidding it’s actually turning into Double Digits Week kind of like the Discovery Channel’s Shark Week although and let’s hope no one is maimed in the celebration.

Bet you are wondering what I got her for her birthday.

Stay tuned, it’s a doozy.

Ferrets are captivating little pets with their cute faces and comical
antics. They are very intelligent and like to be clean, so they should pick it up quickly.
This will also help them interact with you and ferrets love to cuddle.
