Tomato and Basil Pasta

October 1, 2012 by NYCSingleMom Filed Under: Food and Drink

Pasta recipes, pasta recipes with sausage, Hillshire Farm Gourmet Creations, Hillshire Farm Gourmet Creations Chicken Apple smoked sausage with Gouda Cheese

During BlogHer 2012 Conference, I had the opportunity to taste Hillshire Farm Gourmet Creations, a line of premium smoked sausage. I was definitely impressed by how flavorful the Chicken Apple smoked sausage with Gouda Cheese was and certainly was the  perfect combination of sweet and savory.

The new Hillshire Farm Gourmet Creations line offers four flavors with no artificial colors, flavors or by-products: Hillshire Farm Gourmet Creations Chicken Apple smoked sausage with Gouda Cheese, Hillshire Farm Gourmet Creations Beef & Bacon smoked sausage with Monterey Jack Cheese, Hillshire Farm Gourmet Creations Beef; Jalapeno with Monterey Jack Cheese and Hillshire Farm Gourmet Creations Sweet Italian Style with Peppers and Mozzarella Cheese.
Although I really liked the Chicken Apple smoked sausage with Gouda Cheese, the true measure of whether I buy new products is how well it fits into my   cooking meal planning which means that my daughter has to like it to. I am not a big believer in buying separate products just to suit my daughter (okay maybe she gets more cookies than me) but when it comes to dinner, I am only making one meal.

Since we eat a lot of pasta, I incorporated the Chicken Apple smoked sausage with Gouda Cheese into my Tomato and Basil Pasta recipe to spice it up.  And let’s just say it was it hit with my daughter. Since it was a hit, I have also added it to my sunday scrambled eggs.
