Summer Fun Basket for Kids

During the Summer, kids need a lot of fun things to do and  I do have lots of  Cool Summer Activities planned for my daughter, but this year. But a fun idea is pulling together Summer Fun Basket filled with activities that my daughter can access throughout the summer And it doesn’t have to cost a lot of money, many of the items can be bought at your local Dollar Store or Target $1 zone.

Tips to Making A Summer Fun Basket for Kids:

Summer Basket Ideas

1.  The basket can come in any form whether it’s a small laundry basket, a picnic basket or a Land’s End bag. You want  “a basket” that can include your child’s items and is easily transportable. I used a recycled a box that was given to me that has a top and can be carried from room to room.

Summer Fun Basket Ideas

  • Bubbles, doesn’t matter what age you are, every kid’s loves bubbles.
  • Water balloons –  a fun activity for the playground, backyard or picnics
  • Jump Rope – what  a great way to get some exercise and it’s fun. I bought two one for my daughter and a friend for playdates
  • Sidewalk Chalk – I loved RoseArt Inside Side Walk that came in the shape of flower but also includes a surprise inside.
  • Journals, Sketch Pads and Colored Pencils -It’s goes without saying every kid has a creative bent so fill the baskets will all they need.
  • Mad Libs – talk about old school. Kids love making new Mad Libs that will keep you and them laughing all summer. It’s also a great way to engage when you are traveling and looking for activities to keep everyone busy.
  • Travel journals – I scored a $1 journal at Target for my daughter to write about her summer travels even if it’s to the playground
  • Photo album – Another $1 find at Target but I am sure you can find them in dollar stores. Why not go old school and print photos as you go so your child can keep track of all of her summer activities.
  • Knitting and crocheting Idea – my daughter just learned to knit so I bought some yarn for her to make a “scarf” over the summer. Let’s see how that goes.
  • Gift cards – I bought my daughter a Barnes and Noble gift card so she could buy a book for the summer.
