A few months ago, I stopped watching the View. I just couldn’t take it anymore. There just wasn’t any point because it was even entertainment and they all say the same things over and over again and are sooo predictable. But for some reason, I dvr’d it the day P. Diddy, Puff Daddy, Sean Combs whatever the hell his name is, was the guest. He is out promoting his new CD. His appearance on the show just happened to coincide with a recent trip he and Sherri Shephard had made at Fort Hood, Texas. Shephard and Combs were at Fort Hood entertain the troops for Christmas.
Maybe it’s because my dad was in the Air Force or maybe it’s because I read the paper or watch the news but I am not only in disbelief or it is it just plain anger at both of those goofball comments regarding the military. No they did not say anything offensive in the true sense of the word but their ignorance about the military just astounded me.
Sherri, who I like and is just a product of her background and Diddy whol just lives in his celebrity world surrounded by sycophants apparently NEVER READ A PAPER or the Read News on the Internet or watch the news because their goofy comments so reflected this lack of rudimentary knowledget.
First Sherri rambles about how before she went to Fort Hood she had no idea how young the men and women are in the military and she is soo respectful of these young men and women defending the US in the world. Good lord, how is this possible? Who does she thinks join the military and their motivations? Not everyone works in Hollywood, Sherri or can shoot a hoop or rap for god’s sake? And the insane comments about all they do for us and their sacrifices. Is she kidding me? How many times have some of these men/women been deployed? Far more than they should, thats’ far sure. I am pretty sure she has no idea how long some of these people have been deployed for and how long they have been away from family and friends.
And then Diddy with his nonsensical comments about how he respectful the men and women were and is he doing enough to hire retired military people. Good lord. Is he kidding me? I am going to assume that his entire world is filled with disrespectful people because that is how the world is, full of those of us who are respectful of others where people don’t call each other the “n”word and say please and thank you.
Another splinter in my side is that both wars have been going on for YEARS and this is the first time either of them have deigned to visit a military institution. That in itself tells you something about them.
I just had to vent on this topic because the military is disproportionately black/hispanic and usually come from lower middle class background and regardless of your opinion of the Wars, these men and women believe in what they are doing.
Their ignorance just made me nuts so I had to vent.
And for the record, Sherri’s lack of knowledge about stuff makes me bonkers. Message to Sherri, her assistants, The View producers, I beg of you, please make her read the USA Today or the minimum those free daily papers in New York. She obviously can’t deal with reading the Times (type is too small and the articles are too long.) It will go a long way to helping her being able to discuss hot topics.
And for the record 2, I so don’t care why Sean hasn’t gotten married to any of his baby mamas but I want you to ask “is their a reason you don’t wear a condom?” 6 six kids with 3 women. That’s all I am saying.
