Taking taxis are a way of life in New York City. So kids learn early how to hail a cab. Here is my daughter hailing a cab because we needed to reach our destination quickly and we had no time to take the subway. It’s great she can do this now because sometimes there is not enough cabs on the streets, so you need another set of eyes to look at cross streets to see if a cab is coming.

I’m not even sure I know how to hail a cab!! One of the downfalls of living in small town Canada lol !
Ah there is a slight trick to it but of course, knowing when they are free is the first trick
I grew up in Queens so I didn’t have to use cabs. Glad too. I now live in rural Pa so don’t see cabs.
Great picture
I hope she didn’t have a hard time getting one.

That makes me miss NY and how easy it is to get a cab pretty much anywhere. You’re raising that girl right:)
what a cutie. reminds me of the opening scenes of the last sex in the city movie with “fresh to nyc” carrie trying to hail a cab. 🙂
Essential training for all city kids! 🙂
