Hershey’s S’mores Fun Facts and S’mores Recipe @hersheys

Since 1927, Americans have enjoyed making and eating S’mores, a classic treat combining Hershey’s milk chocolate, graham crackers and toasted marshmallows. And while you can make them year round, S’mores are definitely a gather round the campfire treat to enjoy with friends and family.

Here are S’more Fun Facts: 

1. “S’more” originated from the combination of the words “Some More” as people could not get enough of the classic combination of Hershey’sMilk Chocolate, crisp graham crackers and gooey marshmallows.2. August 10 is National S’mores Day.

3. The first printed record of the S’mores recipe appeared in a Girl Scout handbook 85 years ago in 1927.

4. Milton Hershey introduced the first Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bar in 1900.5. Americans buy 90 million pounds of marshmallows every year.

6. The Hershey Company makes more than 500 million Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bars a year. That’s enough Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bars to make more than one billion S’mores!
7. The Hershey Company is the largest North American manufacturer of quality chocolate confectionary products.
Hershey’s S’mores Recipe 

Ingredients

  • 4 graham crackers, broken into halves
  • 2 (1.55 oz. each) HERSHEY’S Milk Chocolate Bars, broken into halves
  • 4 marshmallows

Directions

INDOOR S’MORES: Place 1 graham cracker half on paper towel; top with chocolate bar half and marshmallow. Microwave at MEDIUM (50%) in 10 second intervals until marshmallow puffs. Immediately top with remaining graham cracker half; gently press together. Repeat for each serving; serve immediately. 4 servings.

OUTDOOR S’MORES: Place 1/2 of HERSHEY’S Milk Chocolate Bar (1.55 oz.) on graham cracker half. Carefully toast marshmallow over grill or campfire (supervise the kids if they’re doing this); place over chocolate. Top with second graham cracker half; gently press together.
