It’s National Park Service’s 102nd birthday; FREE EVENTS at Theodore Roosevelt’s Birthplace #findyourpark

Celebrate National Park Service’s 102nd Birthday with FREE events throughout the day at Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site on August 25!!

EVENTS:

  • 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m – Watch the documentary Yellowstone, Battle for Life playing in the Visitor Center
  • 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. – Sign a birthday card for the National Park Service then explore the extent of the National Park System with brochures and a map that displays all 417 NPS sites;
  • Then, take birthday selfies at the Photo Booth outside on the front steps of Theodore Roosevelt’s Birthplace, and
  • Join the National Park Service’s “Find Your Park” social media campaign — #findyourpark and/or #encuentratuparque.

Saturday, Aug. 25, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site, located at 28 E. 20th St. New York, NY

ABOUT THEODORE ROOSEVELT BIRTHPLACE NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE

Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site, rebuilt shortly after Roosevelt’s death, consists of a building designed as two reconstructed townhouses with one reminiscent of Theodore Roosevelt’s childhood home and the other created as a museum. The building has period rooms containing furniture from the original house as well as extensive exhibits, memorabilia, paintings, a library, and an auditorium. The site is a tribute to Roosevelt and portrays the years of his early life as well as his illustrious adult life and career.

 TOURS:

Beginning daily at 10 a.m., tours are hourly (except noon-1 p.m.) 

 

 DIRECTIONS: Lexington Avenue 6 train stops at the East 23rd Street Station on Park Avenue South. Express 

4/5 train stop sat Union Square. R train stop at the East 23rd street station on Broadway; frequent service is provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
