6 Things I Loved Learning While Getting Gorgeous

April 17, 2011 by NYCSingleMom Filed Under: Lifestyle

NYCSingleMom, Vera Sweeney and Audrey McClellan

Getting Gorgeous, an event hosted by two amazing, adorable and nice women, Audrey McClellan @AudreyMcClellan and Vera Sweeney @VeraSweeney

What I love about this event is that provides the opportunity to women with some of my favorite bloggers, meet new ones, connect with brands and just plain have fun and mingle.

So what did I learn at the 2011 Getting Gorgeous events. Tons.

1. Flip Flops don’t have to be boring. FlipOut Sandals brings you not only  comfort but provides flip flops with  flair and panache. FlipOut Sandals offers you the opportunity to add an ornament either for everday wear or bling it out. For a 20% off code, use NYCSINGLEMOM at checkout. Click here for a full review.

2. You can now eat fruit with the new Weight Watchers plan. One of the reasons my diet failed with Weight Watchers was I like to eat fruit, salads are okay but really strawberries and mangoes just can’t be beat in the summer. With all those Jennifer Hudson ads, I am going to re-sign up again and try to get in shape by June.

3. Sarah Potempa, celebrity hair stylist to the likes of Jake Gyllenhahl (love him) actually styles us normal people (ok, I am not normal.) She has the coolest new flat iron made out of titanium. This is nice to know since my very large Amika flat iron is fantastic but is a tad big for traveling.Enter promo code: GG2011 to receive $50 off the purchase of a titanium or ceramic flatiron.

4. Liz Lange (yes, that Liz Lange) and her sister  Jane have the neatest shopping website,  Shopafrolic.com . In addition to the website, the daily newsletter is chocked full of carefully edited must haves or in my case most times must wants.

5. Miracle Body, the folks who brought you Miracle Suit and Miracle Jeans now make an eco- friendly swim suits. Yes, eco friendly and they are cute.

6. My favorite product is now even more portable. Tide to Go is even smaller than the current size. Tide to Go Mini is an amazing stain remover great for moms with messy kids or messy moms like me who like to spill things like ketchup on their white shirts.

Just some of my favorite bloggers:

This was one of the highlights of the Spring season and look forward to the next one. Next time I am going to relax and get my hair done because the ladies who were styled look hot.

Disclosure: NYC Single Mom was not compensated for this post but sure received tons of fun swag.
