@Avengers Age of Ultron REVIEW #AvengersEvent #AgeOfUltron #FandangoFamily

May 1, 2015 by NYCSingleMom Filed Under: Entertainment, Movies

Marvel’s Studio Avengers Age of Ultron opens today and you will be blown away by the eagerly awaited sequel to Marvel’s The Avengers which set the all-time, domestic three day weekend box office record.

Avengers Age of Ultron synopsis, Fandango Family Ambassador, Avegers Age of Ultron, #AvengersEvent, #FandangoFamily

10 Reasons That Make Avengers: Age of Ultron Worth Seeing

1. Comic Book Cred  – Director-Writer Joss Whedon pays homage to Marvel comics that are responsible for the franchise. He puts the soon to be iconic shot that is shown below right up front in the beginning of the movie  which on the screen looks amazing.  The movie also  introduces The Hulkbuster. The Hulkbuster first appeared in an Iron Man issue in 1994 and is a suit of armor that supposedly can withstand  the Hulk’s withering punches.  Talk about making the comic book fans happy.

2. Romance – Avengers: Age of Ultron the non-stop juggernaut action adventure film introduces romance into the storyline. I won’t  say anymore because it would be a spoiler for those who haven’t seen the movie.

3. Global Locations – The movie was shot in various cities around the world from Johannesburg, South Africa to Seoul, South Korea to Aosta Valley, Italy.  With a movie like The Avengers, you know that much of it is special effects but by taking it to all these cool locations you really feel that the Avengers are everywhere and not just in a studio somewhere in Hollywood. It brings the movie a level of sophistication and reality to it.   For instance, the Aosta Valley (Val d’Aosta) is a mountainous region in Northwest Italy that boasts many spectacular medieval castles. By filming on location, it brings you into the Avenger’s world as they attack Strucker’s stronghold. I don’t think you can film that in a studio.  Fun fact: location scouts went across all of Europe taking two months going to every single historical site that had a building on it to find the perfect castle.

4. Superheroes in Party Clothes – One of the best written scenes in the movie is the “ they are just like us”  party scene where the super heros banter, mingle and enjoy a drink.    Academy Award winning costume designer Alexandra Byrne had her work cut out for her getting all the looks right for each super hero especially  Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Robert Downey, Jr. (Iron Man.) With Hemsworth, she wanted references to Thor but wanted a contradiction of sorts so she paired jeans with a jacket and for Robert Downey, Jr. she went more sophisticated. I just loved this scene because it brings to life, “how do superheroes  relax and unwind.”

5. Non-Stop Action – Is there anything more to say? From the opening scene where they are advancing through the snow to attack Strucker’s castle until the end, you are on a roller coaster ride of action.

6. Witty Banter and Laughs – This by far has more witty banter and one liners than the previous Avengers movie. And it works. The action is great but a really good action picture has to bring more to keep you engaged.

7. Surprises – Again can’t say what those surprises are but you will be a bit stunned at how the background of two characters evolve in this movie.  You might shed a tear or two when your learn the back story of one characters.

8. No End Credit – That’s right, the filmmakers decided to change it up a bit and introduce a mid-movie credit. But I bet people will stay to watch the credits anyway just in case.

9. Introduction of A New Super Villain – Who could possibly replace everyone’s favorite villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston) who sadly does not make an appearance but his scepter sure does. Ultron is not a made up villain but is another comic book character that first appeared in a 1968 marvel comic. This is 2015 after all, it’s time to introduce a robot villain.

10. Teaser of the future – Marvel movies are known for creating hype with the quick and dirty introductions of future characters. Avengers:  Age of Ultron is no exception. A new character Klaue (Andy Serkis) makes a very quick cameo as an African  arms dealer.  Who knows where he will pop up again but  given the number of movies Marvel is planning to release in the next few years, he will be back.

Avengers Klaue,Fandango Family Ambassador, Avegers Age of Ultron, #AvengersEvent, #FandangoFamily

#‎AvengersAgeofUltron is a must see film filled with witty batter, an amazing storyline (thank you, Joss Whedon) and some bad ass action from the entire cast.  It must be noted that this is Joss Whedon’s  last film with Marvel Studios which will be sad but he did an amazing job of  bringing us the first Avengers movie, then laying the foundation with ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and capping it off with Avengers: Age of Ultron.

And from my 12 year old daughter, it was awesome.
