Merida Crowned 11th Disney Princess @DisneyWorld

May 14, 2013 by NYCSingleMom Filed Under: Disney World

This past weekend, as part of the Disney Social Media Moms conference, we had the opportunity to see Merida (fromDisney/Pixar’s Brave) be crowned the 11th Disney Princess. The Merida coronation ceremony took place in front of Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort.

After her coronation,  Princess Merida was joined for the first time by all ten of her fellow Disney Princesses, Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Jasmine, Belle, Mulan, Pocahontas, Tiana, and Rapunzel. And a special treat that Merida’s mother Queen Elinor made her first time ever  theme park appearance, just in time for Mother’s Day.

Gabby Douglas and her mom made a special appearance and talked about important relationship between mothers and daughters

My favorite moment is when Princess Merida displayed her outspoken personality with these brilliant words.  “I am Merida and I am a princess!”

As though visiting the Magic Kingdom is not memorable enough, being able to witness Merida being crowned a Disney Princess and then seeing all the 11 Disney Princesses on the stage at one time was an event that I won’t soon forgot.  My daughter is a big Brave fan and identifies with her feisty spirit was thrilled beyond belief to see the event and her comment to describe the event was “Awesome.”
Do you have a favorite Princess?

Well that’s certainly a different way to spend a weekend! Am a great fan of castles… not so sure about princesses – especially “en masse”. I can imagine a young person’s awe some, though &*>

What a wonderful opportunity. Don’t know if I have a favorite Disney princess. Have never seen Brave though, guess I need to see it.
