A Day in the Magic Kingdom

September 8, 2010 by NYCSingleMom Filed Under: Single Mom Daily Life

Day 1 - In Front of Cinderella's Breakfast

First, let me apologize for any grammatical or long winded posts, the Boardwalk only has wi-fi in the lobby so I can’t use my iPad and am typing on my phone. 13 hours, that’s how long we spent at the Magic Kingdom. We arrived at 8:30am and left at 9:30pm. To say we are exhausted is an understatement. We arrived early so we could have breakfast with Cinderalla in her castle at the Magic Kingdom. One of the advantages of being so early is that you get into the park before the general public.

We walked into main street and were greeted by fall decorations. But as soon as my daughter saw the magic kingdom it was over, we had to rush to get closer. The excitement she exuded was like a kid in a candy shop. We had 10 minutes to spare before our reservation so we wandered into the castle boutique. Goodness, me it was devoted to all the princesses. I promptly in 5 minutes broke down and bought a cinderalla dress for my daughter with requisite gloves. I was somewhat remorseful until I saw my daughter having her picture taken with cinderalla. PRICELESS!

After breakfast, we wandered around Fantasyland, riding the carousel, dumbo the flying elephant (fun for all ages) and more. My favorite show was Mickey’s PhilharMagic which was a funny, 3-D romp. It truly was a 3-d movie in which it seemed you could touch the characters, not the crappy movies that are coming out now. Sadly, it’s a small world after all was closed for renovation. On to Frontierland where of course the number1 attraction is Splash Mountain. Needless to say, we rode it 3 times, yes 3 times. That last hill is the doozy but fun. My least favorite show was the country bear jamboree. I am not sure why. Maybe because it’s dated or that the “country music/down home” feeling seems insulting to me or that one of the female bears is drinking wine which daughter deemed inappropriate. Oh well part if the Disney lore.

Next onto Tommorrowland but in the way we happened
