Kid-Friendly Activities at the 2012 Philadelphia Flower Show – Day Trip
The Philadelphia Flower Show may not sound like a kid friendly event but there is a host of activities to engage children in the fun of gardening. Toddlers, youngsters and teens can fun with hands-on planting, flower arranging, Hawaii-inspired arts and crafts, and earth-loving activities in the all-new Einstein Healthcare Network Family Lounge powered by Sprout on March 4-11.
“Hawaii: Islands of Aloha,” is year’s Philadelphia Flower Show theme, introducing a tropical experience that blends next-stage digital technology with the natural beauty and rich culture of the islands.
The Philadelphia Flower Show Events
- One major attraction of the Family Lounge will be the appearance of a character from Universal Pictures’ “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax,” on Sundays, March 4 and 11, from 2-5 p.m. An adaptation of the beloved children’s book by Dr. Seuss, the animated adventure is scheduled to be released as a full-length motion picture on March 2, just prior to the Show. See the trailer for “The Lorax” on my blog preview post with video trailer here!
- Girl Scout Day – Sunday, March 11. All Girl Scouts who have completed PHS environmental patch program, “Planting Seeds, Growing Lives” will be honored in a special ceremony.
- Children can play games and watch videos and parents can take a much needed rest in the Family Lounge.
