Jessica Simpson Jeans for Girls – Fashion Friday
Jessica Simpson has just introduced a clothing line aimed at tween girls, which I recently previewed and thought cute, hip and not too showy for the 8-12 set. Of course, I look at all tween clothes from the perspective of a mom of a tween (scarrrry!!)
Of course, clothes on a model versus testing them in real life are two different things. My daughter was sent three pairs of Jessica Simpson jeans to try out. We both actually liked the jeans, for the styling, the stitching around the pockets. From my perspective, I thought the stitching added flair without being too flashy, were well-made and seemed pretty reasonable in price around $30 a pair. It’s rare mother and daughter agree on clothes but we did.
Here’s the sad part, the jeans fit except around the waist, they were just too big. “Mommy, my pants feel like they are going to fall down.”
I went to adjust them thinking they would have the adjustable elastic waistband every other maker of kid’s jeans has but alas no. We were really disappointed. I could have put a belt or scarf but my daughter hates belts so that would have been a disasters.
Definitely a design flaw that I hope Jessica’s design team fixes for the summer line because, I would definitely buy these jeans.
