Sleepover Activities from Orbeez Jewelry Maker to Mani/Pedis

[ 0 ] December 20, 2011 |

Over the Winter Break, my daughter is planning a sleepover with a couple of her friends. This means I have to come up with activities to keep four girls busy. Although my first inclination is just to let them watch television for the entire time or scream and destroy my daughter’s room, that doesn’t seem very productive.

Here’s what I have planned for the sleepover.

The girls will start out playing in my daughter’s room I am sure for the better half of the day at which time, they will announce they are bored.

That’s when  I will break out the Orbeez Jewelry maker available at BJs. The Orbeez Jewelry Maker turns miniature Orbeez into beautiful light-up pendants. What the heck are Orbeez?! Orbeez are tiny little beads that start off  hard and then swell to more than 100 times their original size with the addition of water  and become bouncy, squishy, translucent, and uniquely tactile. My daughter tested this out and loved making the pendants and loved that the pendants light up. The jewelry maker was easy to set up and easy to place the beads into the pendant. I think that the girls will get a kicked of the orbeez beads and making the pendants.

Orbeez Soothing Spa After the girls finish making their light up pendants, they will move onto doing mani/pedis. I am totally prepared with my Ellie and Sally Hansen nail polishes. Their moms might not be happy about the colors but the girls will  love the selection of reds, pinks and blues. I’m sure they will love soaking their feet in the Orbeez Soothing Spa, which offers them a  unique tactile sensation of the cascade waterfall of beads. My daughter thought this was totally hilariously fun and loved the feel of the beads. She can’t wait to have her BFFs try it out.

I guess I have to feed these lovely girls. After we have pizza and garlic knots, we will all be making sugar cookies. Who knows when they will be going to sleep but I am prepared with my wine and earplugs. Let’s hope I survive.
