Aveda’s Summer Beauty Solutions
Aveda Summer Beauty Solutions event hosted by fellow blogger and mom Carol Cain from NYCityMama.com was the perfect solution to give myself a little pampering and a beauty wake up call. Being a single mom, doing it all myself means, I have a tendency to let my skin go. Sure, I wash my wash and moisturize but using a toner, eye cream, ah that’s just too much for me.
Now before I had attended the event, I had heard of Aveda but have not had the chance to even go in the stores, so I was eager to have a skin consultation. Sari, the Aveda skin consultant asked a slew of questions based not only my current beauty routine.
Because of my combination skin and my tendency use a scrub, she recommended I try Tourmaline Charged Cleanser, Botanical Kinetics Exfoliant, Botanical Kinetics Hydrating Lotion and Tourmaline masque. She actually told me yes, I should be using an eye cream but given that I wouldn’t use it, she just made the moisturizing suggestion. Now and I told her this that for me, I thought the Botanical Kinetics because it wipes a dead surface cells on a daily basis was the best bet for me now and that I have moisturizer and cleanser.
So far, the Botanical Kinetics Exfoliant is great especially since the weather is so disgusting. I also like that the products are all natural, plant-based products plus they use scents that are soothing but not overpowering.
