Lego Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tide Queen Anne’s Revenge
Even though Lego Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tide was one of my Top 15 Hot Summer Toy picks, I was a tad worried when the company sent the kit for my daughter to put together. Why? Not because my daughter isn’t into Lego, in fact she has been getting more into Lego over the past year. It’s because it’s 1097 pieces. Yes, 1097 pieces which is the most pieces my daughter has done.
But she rose to the challenge and I might add obsessively, rising to the challenge even staying up past her bedtime. Yes, I let her stay up because it was so obvious she was truly into finishing it. I really thought it would take her weeks but it only took her few days and with no help. Woohoo!!
I love Lego products. It drove me crazy that she couldn’t get into them when everyone else was. I even sat down with her to help her but I have learned that my daughter develops as her own speed (a lesson I keep forgetting, not to compare her to other kids).
But what I love about Lego is that it provides a chance for kids to think about how to put what they are doing, focus on the task at hand, follow directions and ends with a sense of accomplishment. She was so proud of finishing this Queen Anne’s Revenge ship that she somewhat interested in the movie (sorry Pirates of the Caribbean producers, she hasn’t seen any of the movies but be happy she knows who Johnny Depp is.)
Now I just to worry about where I am going to keep the ship and what her next Lego project will be.
Even if your child is not going to see Pirate of the Caribbean movie, they will love this Lego kit. It so full lots of intricate detail, and it is guaranteed to keep them busy for hours or days.
